Microcar Models Australia was formed in 2018 when we decided to make precision quality microcar models. Our passion for collecting models has been transformed into producing limited-edition models of high-quality collectible microcars.

We chose white metal as our preferred media for its ability to be precisely crafted in 1:43 scale. Our static models are completed to the finest finish. We prefer to thoroughly research our cars distilling their culture, history, and dreams into 3 models per year. Our desire is for microcars and bubble cars not previously made or to reimagine those known but longer available.

As collectors, we are expanding and sharing our passion by making the models we want to collect and are proud to share them and our passion with discerning collectors. By focusing on 3 different limited edition, quality models per year, our thoroughly researched marques can be readily acquired by collectors.

Microcars are broadly defined as small cars with petrol engines up to 700 cc capacity. Often a lot smaller derived from motorcycle engines. Such cars have been made in most periods since the advent of the motor car with a frenetic period of innovation in the post WW2 era. However as cities become more congested and non-renewable fossil fuels contribute to climate change and global warming, microcars have regained popularity as electric vehicles (EV) or small cars powered by other alternative energy sources. Many microcars are for a driver only showing their links to scooters and motorcycles. Others provide for a driver and one or a few passengers often in interesting seating arrangements, tandem, back to back, with front or rear opening doors or suicide doors to utilise the small confined spaces of these microcars.

Collecting microcar models old and new is a great way to appreciate and experience these interesting small cars. Some are prototypes while others made it into production. Real microcars are broadly appreciated but not achievable for all, with many preferring to collect a broad range of scale model Microcars. The classic scale of 1:43 represents the broadest range of Microcar models, contemporary and classical, while 1:18 and 1:87 scales are making appearances.
